About The Event

Join us for an evening of musical intimacy and emotional depth as acclaimed pianist Tim Horton presents an all-Chopin recital exploring the composer’s transformation of beloved Polish dance forms.

Forced to leave Poland in 1830 and never able to return, Chopin reimagined the social dances of his youth - mazurkas, waltzes, and polonaises - from exile in Paris. What began as communal gestures became channels for private reflection, national longing, and deep artistic expression.

This carefully curated programme traces that journey from the intimate salon to the grand concert stage, revealing how dance rhythms dissolve into nocturnal reverie before re-emerging as monumental statements of identity and yearning.

We look forward to welcoming you!
